Before you purchase a wine cooler, it’s a good idea to find out how much electricity the wine cooler uses. Keep electricity bills down and help protect the environment by choosing a wine cooler with lower power consumption. We’ve gathered together our top energy-saving wine coolers here so you can find a product that helps you keep energy costs low! With energy rating F, these wine coolers are some of the most energy-efficient in the market.
How much electricity does a wine cooler use?
The electricity consumption of a wine cooler can be measured in kWh/year, i.e. annual power consumption. The annual power consumption is always displayed on our wine coolers. Each wine cooler also has an energy efficiency class that indicates how energy-saving/energy-efficient the wine cooler is. All energy efficiency classes from A to G are approved to the EU standard (the scale is still A+++ to D for some other household appliances).
New energy ratings from 2021
In 2021, the A+++ to D energy consumption scale for wine coolers and other appliances was replaced by a scale from A to G. This new rating scale has stricter criteria for the energy consumption of products and makes it easier to see the difference between the energy classes. There is no exact equivalent for each energy label in the old and new scales, but our wine coolers that are rated F in the new system were rated approximately A or A+ under the old system. Energy efficiency class F is one of the best ratings a wine cooler can be given today. You can find out more about the EU’s new energy labels here.
